Central sterile high purity water solutions for mobile sterilization trailers
A provider of mobile sterilization trailers for hospitals and surgical centers across the United States wanted to install high purity water systems meeting AAMI TIR 34 recommendations on their trailers.
The company’s key final product water quality requirements were as follows:
- < 10 uS conductivity
- < 10 CFU/ml bacteria
- < 10 EU/ml endotoxin
In conjunction with the local AmeriWater dealer, AmeriWater designed high purity water systems meeting AAMI TIR 34 recommendations.
The systems include the following components:
- Pre-RO Water Softener
- Pre-RO Cartridge filtration and Carbon Blocks
- AmeriWater RO2 Reverse Osmosis System (consisting of 2,200 gpd RO, 100-gallon storage tank, and 30 gpm high flow distribution pump)
- 2-micron Absolute Endotoxin Filters on the Recirculating Loop Water
- UV (254nm) System on the Recirculating Loop Water
- Online Conductivity Monitoring of Recirculating Loop Water
The systems were skid-mounted and pre-piped at the local dealer’s facility before delivery to the customer. Since the systems were to be located on a mobile trailer, they were designed to minimize weight and to be shock resistant.
The systems are now in operation and meet all of the final product water quality requirements.
